Progressive Strength Work For Yoga

If you ask a child to do an advanced yoga pose, they are likely to be able to do it right away.‌

No instruction is needed.‌

BUT.‌

If you ask a 40 year old woman to go into the very same pose without any foundational training- she’s gonna ask for pain pills, because we need PROGRESSIVELY to train the body to improve flexibility and strength.‌

→ Because saying “just breathe” is not useful.

→ Because saying “It is because of what happened when you were twelve” has no clear, actionable takeaways.

→Because imprinting a feeling of OVERWHELM is NOT a way to build a sustainable, attainable yoga practice.‌

What I’m saying is that abstract instruction is often not enough when you are trying to FEEL BETTER and build a yoga practice that is useful, usable, and adaptable to whatever stage of life you are in.

That is why our classes are planned, progressive, and adaptable so that we can adapt the pose to fit your body instead of trying to squeeze our body into a pose.

Let’s keep elevating the conversation.‌
