How To Do Camel Pose

I love backbends in the morning. They wake me up and energize me for the whole day. Camel pose is a backbend that depends on hip flexibility and back strength.

Working on backbends in yoga needs to be done step by step. First, it is SUPER important to build foundational strength and mobility. Then, we can build beginner backbends and beyond.

We want to move our back in all directions it can move, and incorporating some kind of backbend (which I often call back EXTENSIONS in class, is a way to do that on a consistent basis.
