How Our Classes Are Different From Yoga
Here are five ways our classes are different than traditional yoga classes:
We don’t do yoga poses, instead, we do therapeutic strength and mobility exercises.
We don’t lower the lights or light incense. Our classes are well-lit, with clear instructions and options for the entire class.
Our sequences (the order of exercises we do) are carefully planned for strength and flexbility.
We focus on weight-bearing exercises to build bone health and maintain strength.
We do not do meditation, chanting, or music.
Here are five ways our classes are similar to an excellent yoga class:
You feel relaxed after class.
Yoga is a tool to help you feel better, and our classes are absolutely a way to decompress after a long week.
We use yoga blocks and spend time stretching and breathing.
We use the breath as a way to go deeper into the stretch.
We call our class a PRACTICE, a term used often in yoga.
Our classes, programs, and customized programs reflect these differences by focusing on improving strength, flexibility, and mobility—a GOAL-oriented approach that is different from traditional yoga classes.
